We can all agree that great aprés ski is a crucial part of a good day on the slopes, so it’s time to turn our attention to the chalets. If you’ve missed this article in the latest issue of 15 Minutes, now is the chance to read all about our dream chalets and how we’d like our aprés ski sessions to look like.
If money was no object we’d be booking one of these luxury chalets in a heartbeat. Sadly we haven’t won the lottery (yet), but it doesn’t hurt to dream, so here are some favourites to keep in mind for when you head to the mountains and fancy some seriously luxurious aprés ski time!
Verbier, Switzerland
The Lodge in Verbier, Switzerland, is part of Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Limited Edition, and supposedly one of his own personal winter retreats. Nestled in the Swiss Alps, it’s not only great for a ski or snowboarding holiday, but you can even peruse it during the summer months for a variety of activities including paragliding and mountain biking. If it’s good enough for Richard Branson, it’s good enough for us!
Megève, France
Les Chalets des Fermes in Megève, France is truly luxurious. Sleeping 10 people it offers access to a private spa, full-time housekeeper, concierge and a private chef. The ultra cosy interiors and aforementioned private spa makes it a perfect choice for those that may not be the most avid skiers or snowboarders. When the chalet is this good why hit the slopes?
Revelstoke, Canada
Bighorn may be further afield but it’s just as grand, if not more indulgent than the previous two. It features a cinema, triple height great room with log fire, spa, gym and outdoor hot tub. Oh, and did we mention it comes with its own private helipad? If we did ever have the money to hire this chalet out we’d struggle to give it back!
