Male Grooming Trends For 2016

Male grooming trends
It’s the start of a new year, so in this blog post, we’re talking about the two key male grooming trends in 2016 you should look out for.

By now you’re at the stage in your grooming education where you know your scrubs from serums and your putty from pomade.

But the problem with being on-point when it comes to grooming is trends constantly evolve. No sooner have you mastered the man-bun, and the pompadour cut is on fleek.

What was fit for 2015, isn’t fit for today. Fear not, Cornerstone have your back, so let us take you through the two key male grooming trends of 2016.

1. Bye Bye Beard

Like real ale, puffer jackets and double denim, beards have had something of a renaissance over the past few years.

Hitting ‘peak beard’ sometime in 2014, it’s been a steady and welcome decline ever since. And when Graham Norton, Simon Cowell and Gary Lineker are sporting facial fuzz, we know it’s time to invest in a decent razor.

With some Darwinian science to back up that beards just aren’t cool anymore, 2016 is the year to show off that smooth chin you’ve been hiding.

2. The Return of Clean Cuts

Following on from the previous point, now you’ve slayed the bristles, it’s time to have a suitable hairstyle to accompany it.

2016 will see the return of clean cuts and the classic short back and sides, but think more Don Draper, less your primary school trim.

Whether you plump for the mild quiff, fauxhawk or simple side parting, channel your inner Don Draper with tight cuts, tapered sides and a little bit of fullness on top. All styled and pushed back with a small amount of pomade.

So there you have the two male grooming trends you need to know about, here’s to looking great in 2016.
