If you missed our ‘Cornerstone Recommends’ feature in our magazine – where we shared some of our favourite restaurant and bars around the UK – then you’re in for a treat as we’re also bringing them to the blog today!
In the words of Big Fernand – stop eating burgers, eat Hamburgés! It may be a UK first, but apparently Big Fernand has got a cult following in Paris and Hong Kong, so we thought it worthy of a quick visit. We weren’t disappointed – they had us at the melted cheese alone. For the time being, we’ll put aside our cross-channel rivalry: these guys certainly know how to make a mean hamburgés.
Not biased just to London, we’re also big fans of Manchester House, which has some pretty impressive wraparound views of (not surprisingly) Manchester from the private terraces. With a cocktail menu longer than Gillette’s list of razor patents, this the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
If you’re into sharing then we highly recommend Jinjuu in the heart of London, Soho. If you’re going to have anything at this Korean restaurant, it has to be the Jinjuu Tong Dak, or simply – a whole fried chicken. You’re going to thank us for this one.
For the morning after the night before, why not cure your sore head with a big (boozy) brunch at Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings. Their bottomless brunch is served until 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays – meaning there’s no excuse for not getting up in time.
