A Guide to London Markets

London has a lot to offer, from bars, restaurants, art galleries, shops and markets, there’s always something to do. When it comes to the latter though it’s always quite tricky knowing which market to spend your Saturdays or Sundays strolling through. There are so many and we’ve all heard of the obvious ones like Borough Market, but what if you’ve exhausted these better known markets and you’re looking for something new and a little different?

Having done a little exploring ourselves, we thought now would be a great time to share some of our hidden gems, just in time for the weekend.

dalston

Dalston Food Market

If street food, craft beer and picnics are your thing then head to the weekly Dalston Food Market held on the lawns of a secondary school. But don’t worry though, they’ve got covered areas too should the weather not be picnic-friendly. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also have the pleasure of listening to live music, making this market an all-day and evening event.

maltby

Maltby Street Market

You’ve heard of Borough Market, but chances are Maltby Street Market, situated in nearby Bermondsey, isn’t on your radar…yet. If lazy Saturday strolls are a weekly ritual for you, then you don’t want to miss the street feast to be had at Maltby Street Market. You’ll even be able to grab some fresh produce for your Saturday night dinner party if you had down the road to Spa Terminus.

real-food

Real Food Market

This weekly food market in King’s Cross is all about fresh, seasonal produce. This is the place to find small, independent food and drink producers and traders. The focus at this market is all about ethical, sustainable produce priced affordably. We recommend you try out Black Acorn’s spicy chorizo, you won’t be disappointed.

Now these markets are on your radar, which one will you check out this weekend?
