Cornerstone is Nominated for 2017 Startups Awards.

Cornerstone is hot in the press again with the recent announcement that we have been nominated in 3 categories at the Startups Awards 2017 and you can help! One of the categories that we are finalists in is the coveted People’s Champion Award. We have previously won this award in 2015 and 2016, so can you and your friends help us to make it three years in a row? Click the link to vote now.

Startups Awards 2017

Now in its 14th year, the Startups Awards has earned a reputation for unearthing some of the UK’s finest entrepreneurial businesses and shining a spotlight on the start-up market. Previous winners have gone on to enjoy phenomenal success, including Ella’s Kitchen, Glasses Direct, Naked Wines, Secret Escapes, The Cambridge Satchel Company, Appear Here and most recently Cornerstone and Onfido.

The prestigious awards, which recognise the UK’s most creative, innovative and ambitious new businesses, provides a fantastic opportunity for finalists to network with like-minded entrepreneurs – including the award judges – over a lively champagne reception and three-course lunch. There are 14 categories open to companies that commenced trading less than four years ago. Covering every business area, these include Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Tech Business of the Year, alongside new awards Start-Up Loans Inspiring Entrepreneur of the Year and the Founders Pledge Social Impact Award.

Their winners are selected by a judging panel consisting of some of the UK’s top entrepreneurs which in the last couple of years have included, to name just a few, Cath Kidston MBE, Dragons’ Den investor and founder of Moonpig.com Nick Jenkins, Innocent Drinks co-founder Jon Wright, Cassandra Stavrou, co-founder of former Startups Awards winner PROPERCORN, BGF Ventures investor Rory Stirling, and founder of the tremendously successful fashion chain Charles Tyrwhitt, Nick Wheeler.

Why Cornerstone is Nominated

“Within three years, Cornerstone has cemented its position as one of the top challenger brands against the big boys of the shaving industry. Aiming to enable all men to buy all of their toiletry needs online via direct debit, Cornerstone now achieves 11% month-on-month growth – impressive traction for a product business which then 25-year-old Bridge launched with a £5,000 Start Up Loan. With a large, and loyal, customer base, as demonstrated by its two successive People’s Champion victories, Cornerstone was a no-brainer for our Startups Awards shortlist. And we suspect it will take some stopping not to achieve a People’s Champion hat trick!”

Why you should vote for us

Thanks to the fantastic support from our members, we are lucky to have won this award previously for two years running (the first company to have ever done so!). Although we started as a small fish in a big pond back in 2014, we are now quite a bit bigger than we were three years ago – there are now over 150,000 men enjoying our products every morning, and a team of nearly 40 of us here at Cornerstone HQ – as a result, this is the last time we can enter the Startups Awards.

So, it would be amazing to go out with a bang and win the award one last time. We have always put our members at the centre of everything we do – whether it is raising money through crowdfunding, developing and launching new products based on your feedback or sponsoring podcasts run by our customers, and we hope you feel part of our success too. So, if you could lend us your time for 30 seconds and vote, we would be ever so grateful. Here’s to the Cornerstone community that we have built over the last three years, and to many more smooth mornings!

Thanks!
