In this hustle and bustle world we live in, it can be hard to stay on top of everything, especially health. Coupled with the fact that everything is done online these days and desk jobs are the norm – it’s essential to ensure a healthy wellbeing whilst being stuck in the office. Here are our top tips for staying healthy from the comfort of your workspace.

Sit or stand?

Sitting down has been dubbed a silent killer by medics in recent years so best to get up and about throughout your day. Why not try a standing desk? This allows a break from being slumped in a chair and has a load of benefits. Not only can it improve posture, circulation and reduce back pain, but it can also improve your general mood and productivity. Trust us, you’ll feel the difference even doing it an hour a day!

This summer seems never-ending which of course has its benefits but can also wreak havoc on your body if you’re not properly hydrated. We’re made of 70% water so that needs to be replenished regularly. Ensuring you’re hydrated keeps the body working as it should, helps with concentration and cleanses out nasty toxins you may have. Investing in a reusable water bottle will make sure you keep on top of hydration and saving the planet as you go.

Of course, it’s understandable – we’ve all missed the occasional meal due to work or overdone things on a Friday night. These long, hot summer days can mean it’s difficult to stay fresh throughout the working day. We recommend keeping a stash of your favourite grooming products at your desk such as deodorant and mouthwash – or a toothbrush and toothpaste if you want that extra fresh feeling. Keeping yourself fresh on particularly grimy days will help you maintain a focus and determined attitude without worrying if Jane from accounts is eyeing up your rapidly grown pit stains.
