#WednesdayWoes: Thinning Hair

Many of us worry about thinning hair, but stressing about it won’t help. In fact it will most likely make matters worse. Over the years we’ve tried a number of things to combat thinning hair and employed various tricks to make it look thicker. We can’t say they all worked, but there have been a few things that we’ve done that have helped.

Washing

Don’t be afraid to wash your hair regularly, but if you’re going to wash it on a daily basis make sure you use a gentle, regular use shampoo. What you shouldn’t be using on a daily basis though, is a deep cleansing/clarifying shampoo as this depletes the natural oil levels and you’ll end up drying out your scalp!

Styling Products

Stick to matte products, gents. Matte styling clay or paste will make your hair appear a little fuller. However we do concede that the texture may not appeal to everyone, so if you really can’t bring yourself to use these type of products, take some tips from the ladies and go for a volumising mousse. This is best used with a little heat so don’t be afraid to bring out the hair dryer. If anything, a little heat will actually help add some volume to your mane. Just make sure you don’t over do it because too much heat will frazzle your hair.

Professional Help

If all else fails, get yourself a good haircut. Now is not the time to scrimp and save on your trim. The trick is to find a hairstyle that shifts the attention away from your thinning or receding hairline while still flattering your face shape.

Now we’ve armed you with our top tips and tricks it’s time for you to start putting these to the test.
