How to Deal with Hair Loss

hair loss

Hair loss can be very upsetting, but unfortunately as we age the chances of dealing with temporary or permanent hair loss increase. But there are ways of dealing with hair loss gracefully, and here are our top recommendations.

Cut it off

Opting for a shorter hair cut is almost always the best way to offset thinning hair on top- longer hair tends to emphasise hair loss. Discuss with your barber or hairdresser the next time you go for a hair cut what kind of styles will suit you best.

Change up your routine

Start using a shampoo for thinning/fine hair, as it will help protect your hair that bit more. Don’t overdo it though or else you’ll find your hair is in even worse shape than before. Ideally you don’t want to be washing your hair more than three times a week, but if you feel like that just won’t cut it, opt for a dry shampoo in between washes. Dry shampoo is also a great product for adding volume to your hair.

Avoid using heavy styling products as they have a tendency to separate the hair which then emphasises any thinning and/bald patches. Instead opt for lighter products- a clay based product would be ideal- and finish off with blow drying your hair to give it added volume.

Embrace the Bald

Above all, embrace it!

Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, The Rock, Sean Connery, Kobe Bryant. These five world-renowned superstars have one thing in common; they’re bald. Embracing the baldness is a sign of confidence, and can, according to a US study, make you look more dominant, masculine and taller than your full-headed counterparts! Better yet, it’s one less thing to worry about in your grooming routine.
