It’s 2016. There’s no stigma about men going to a spa for a treatment or two. After all, we all deserve a little break sometimes. So whether it’s a relaxing day off or a luxury spa break, here’s Cornerstone’s list of masculine retreats, full of suggestions of places across the UK for you to relax and recharge those batteries.
The spas in London and its environs are plentiful, but one of our favourites is The Dolphin Square . Here you’ll find a vast range of treatments coupled with relaxation rooms a literal stone’s throw from the Thames in SW1. Perfect for those working long hours and needing some well-deserved R+R, but can’t bear to be away from the big city buzz for too long.
We’d be stopping off at the Feversham Arms Hotel in Yorkshire, complete with Verbena Spa for a night of utter relaxation. With an excellent restaurant and accommodating staff on-hand to cater for your needs, you needn’t even leave the grounds during your stay.
Venturing further north still, and into Scotland. About an hour north of Edinburgh, The Spa at Gleneagles is one of the most luxurious in Britain, set amongst the vast estate that’s maybe better known for golf than glowing skin. Of course, there’s no reason why you couldn’t fit 18 holes in to your stay alongside a relaxing break…
The Vale Resort in Vale of Glamorgan would be our pick for any discerning gents looking for a bit of pampering. With Hensol Castle in its grounds, the resort has something for everyone: hotel, good food, golf, and of course the spa. A definite one-to-look-out-for if you’re thinking of a Welsh getaway.
Why limit yourself to just the British Isles to relax? Hop on a plane and unwind in sunnier climes at the Lefay Resort & Spa in Lake Garda, Italy. Make a change from staring at office cubicles or the inside of a tube carriage, and venture into modern therapies that help de-stress the body and mind with a stunning view to boot.
